Professor of Tropical Medicine @ University of Oxford
Professor Dondorp is the Professor of Tropical Medicine at the University of Oxford. His PhD from the University of Amsterdam was on the pathophysiology of severe falciparum malaria. Professor Dondorp is currently the Deputy Director and Head of the Malaria and Critical Illness Department at Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU), a joint Programme of the University of Oxford and the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University. His main research interests include the pathophysiology and treatment of severe malaria, antimalarial drug resistance and the improvement of intensive care practice in developing countries.
He is a member of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine working group on the development of Intensive Care Medicine in resource-poor countries. He has published over 300 papers in international medical journals
